Members of Vale Royal Athletic Club walked up Snowdon on Sunday 21st September 2003 to raise money for the club.  40 athletes and parents decided to walk up to the summit.

The walk started out with beautiful weather and clear skies, however, as the track became steeper, those clouds and the rain began to descend.

However, the athletes and parents persisted with their efforts and everyone made it to the cafe at the top, where a certain young lady who celebrated her 18th birthday was treated to the tunes of happy birthday.

On the way back down the winds persisted with vigour as did the foggy conditions.  In the five times I have been up I have never ever seen the view on a clear sunny day and I suppose it means that another trek up the summit is imminent for me.

All members thoroughly enjoyed the day out and some good memories of those who found it extremely tough reaching the summit will be pleased with their personal achievement.

Finally, a huge thanks of appreciation to Rob Bosson who has spent many months organising this walk.
