Vale Royal
Girls To Be Featured In Australian Book Down Under!!!

A Australian book
company from Melbourne has contacted Vale Royal AC to ask if two of our
athletes could feature in a book down under 12 000 miles away.
The book is a maths
book which will be published in March 2004 for year 9 pupils in Australia,
the book will be called Spectrum Maths Year 9 (5.3.)
The book will contain
two girls from Vale Royal AC who participated in the Cheshire Championships
two years ago at the javelin. The photos will be in colour allowing
the blue and yellow of the vest to shine through.
The aim of each photo
being in the book is simply for mathematical reasons. The students
will have to work out the trajectory of the javelin and how high the javelin
was thrown using mathematical equations in the form of trigonometry.
Both girls have been
promised a copy of the book and parents have given permission to the
Cambridge University Press Office of Melbourne, Australia.
The club are delighted
that the girls will be featured in the book and it is equally pleasing that
the web site has been viewed in Australia.
The site has been
viewed in different countries around the world such as Canada, USA, India
and Australia by athletes who have relatives in various parts of the world,
and are able to keep to date with athletes progress via the web.
