Athletes Get Ready For English Schools Finals

Eight athletes from Vale Royal Athletic Club have reached the finals of the English Schools event which is a major event in the athletics calendar.

All the athletes have trained progressively over the last 12 months to be held at Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield, the scene of many international athletics events over the last two decades.

Becky Ellis, Laura Lambert, Beth Carter and James Griffiths will compete in middle distance events (800m - 1500m), whereas Morgan Brown and Steven Butterfield will participate in the sprints.

Virginia Moorhouse will compete in the hurdles event and Ruth Ellis will participate in the Discus.

Coaches at Vale Royal AC are delighted with the number of athletes who participate in different events will be at the finals.  This is a tribute to the coaches who work on a voluntary basis all year round.
