Rebecca Sets 2 New Club Records
Rebecca Craigie took bronze in the AAAs 800m at Sheffield on Sunday 12th August and set a new Club record in a time of 2min 11.57 secs. Rebecca reached the finals after two days of heats and lined up in the final with the English schools 800 champion Rowenna Cole from the West midlands, the English Schools 1500m champion Laura Weightman from Morpeth, the English schools 3k champion Jessica Burns from City of Plymouth, and the UKs fastest 800m runner this year Kerrie Harris from Hull. The race was won by Harris from Weightman and then Rebecca.
James Stringer also reached the finals in the 400m did not figure in the
medals.
More recently Rebecca
finished in 4th place in the UK Schools games 1500m at Coventry on
Saturday 25th August.
This top class event
had the top athlete from each of the nine English regions and from
Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The race was won by
Laura Weightman from the North East with Beth Potter from Scotland
second and Louise Small from the South East third.
Rebecca's time of 4min
31.27secs is another new Club Record - shaving half a second off Stevie
Stockton's record of 2 years ago.
