5 New Records for Club Athletes

Rebecca Craigie and Megan Huxley both smashed long-standing records at this year's Cheshire Track and Field Championships.
Victoria Anderson and Hannah Carlin also set new records at the event.

Rebecca first knocked more than 3 seconds off her own Championship record in the U17 Ladies 1500m with a time of 4.32.1 before going on to knock more than 2 seconds off Vale Royal athlete Laura McCabe's 1996 record in the 800m with a time of 2.10.3 - also beating her own Club Record of last year by more than 1 second.

Megan meanwhile topped a 24 year old record held by Sue Parker in the U15 Girls 1500m with a time of 4.46.4.
This performance also earned her the Marie Birkenhead Mile Trophy.

In the U15 Girls triple jump Victoria Anderson added 27cm to the previous record with a jump of 9.97m.

2 new records went to sprinter Hannah Carlin in the U13 Girls 150m and 80m with times of 19.9s and 10.5s.
She knocked an impressive 0.4s and 0.3s off the previous Championship best times.

Victoria and Hannah's efforts have also bettered their previous Club Record performances from last year.
