Medals at the National Road Relays

     

Vale Royal were in the medals at the National Road Relays held at Sutton Park, Birmingham on Sunday.

The U17 team of Nikki Meadows, Kathy Stringer and Rebecca Craigie took team bronze in the 3x3.8k road race -the first time the club has ever won a set of medals in this massive event.
 
The U13 team of Louise Towers, Jade Evans and Cerys Heaher finished in 22nd place, a huge improvement on last years 45th place.

James Iken, Nathan Tipping and Jack Quinn finished in 25th place out of 50 starting teams.
 
U15 girls of Tessa McCormick, Hannah Bishop and Megan Huxley finished in 10th place out of 70 starting teams.
Ameilla Pettitt, Lucy Whittick and Claire Perry were in 27th place.
Also running were Kate Moulds and Jess Lee,

U15 boys teams of Lewis Healey, Mike Vennard and Andy Miles finished in 45th place out of 80 teams with Tom Marsden, Ryan Moore and Matthew Jakeman in 56th place.
 
U17s Andy Clews, Andy Perry and Ed Crowther finished in 43rd place out of 70 starting teams.
 
There were only eighteen sets of medals available in the whole meeting and Vale Royal were one of only three North of England clubs to medal in an event with about 700 teams entered in total.
