Morgan Wins British Indoor Sprints Title 2004

Vale Royal AC Sprinter Morgan Brown has delighted the coaches and athletes of Vale Royal Athletic Club with a superb win at the AAA Indoor Championships 2004.  Morgan is seen above with her twin brother and younger sister with her Gold Medal for the 200 metres.

Morgan competed in the Under 15 Girls 200 metres championships, where she contested the heats, the semi final and then, lastly the final, all in one day to gain the gold medal....

Modest Morgan was quietly delighted with her medal at the National Indoor Arena at Birmingham, where many international stars such as Marion Jones, Jonathon Edwards and the likes of Kelly Holmes have raced on the track.

Club President Harry Evans commented that both Morgan and John Lightfoot (Sprints Coach), as well as the other sprinters,  have formed a excellent working group, who have all spurred each other on in training, particularly during the hard winter months.

Sprints Coach John Lightfoot was over the moon with the achievement of the girls at Birmingham and is very excited about the Outdoor Season on the track.

Hayley Jones, who gained two North Of England Titles in the 60 metre sprint as well as the 200 metre sprint in January 2004, was also in action at the British Championships.  The North Of England record holder for the above titles, competed in the 60 metre sprint.  Hayley is pictured above in club kit.

Hayley reached the final of the Under 17 Ladies 60 metre sprint where she gained a superb 4th place in a tough final and a long day at Birmingham.  Hayley is now looking forward to return to the championships in the same age group next year.
