Pie and Peas Race 2002
A Successful Evening For All!!!
The Pie and Peas Race 2002 organised by Neil Hardman of Vale Royal
AC enjoyed a warm evening with many runners taking on board the views of
Moulton.
The 5 mile race through the countryside of Vale Royal was won by
Tom Carter (Vale Royal AC) who only recently gained his first GB Vest on
Track at 1500 metres.

In 2nd place was Bernie Jones (also of Vale Royal AC) who really enjoyed
the course, particularly the hilly elements. In third place was
Graham McNeil from Helsby AC.
Athletes from Vale Royal AC for the first time won both the men's
and ladies team prize. This was achieved with the help of VRAC up and
coming juniors. In the men's winning team two of the four counters
were junior athletes, Tom Carter and George Thompson.
In the Ladies winning team three of the four athletes were juniors,
Karen Ellison, Beth Carter and Caroline Winder. Other highly rated
juniors were Adam Gear, Mark Mitchell, Nicky Archer and Fiona Rudkin.
