Vale Royal AC Enjoy the Relays at County
Championships 2002

Vale Royal Athletic Club attended the Cheshire County Relay
Championships at the newly refurbished Crewe Track On Sunday 14th July
2002. Athletes from Vale Royal AC really did enjoy the day with some
stunning performances from all age groups.

The Under 13 Girls 4 x 100m relay team of Ellie Moorhouse, Robyn
Wainwright, Morgan Brown and Katie Balfour led Vale Royal AC home in first
place. This is the third consecutive year that Vale Royal AC have won
this event, well done girls!!!
The Under 15 Girls 4 x 100m relay team of Sarah Balfour, Laura
Lambert, Sarah Clarke and Kirsten Seward also lead Vale Royal AC into first
place to become Under 15 girls county champions.
The Middle distance contingent of Vale Royal AC were also out in
force with a clean sweep of the podium in the Under 15 girls 3 x 800m
teams, with all nine athletes on the podium from Vale Royal.
Gemma Lievesley, Emma Coxon and Hannah Rugen came first in the 3 x
800m, with Laura Lambert, Jessica Hunt and Lorna Timms in 2nd place (silver
medal). The team of Lucy Knight, Stevie Stockton and Sophie McCellan
in third place to complete the podium standings. Well done to
all the athletes!!!
The Under 17 Ladies team of Becky Ellis, Beth Carter and Sarah
Drury contested the 3 x 800m relays where the trio enjoyed good sunny
conditions to lead Vale Royal into the tape.
The Under 13 girls teams of 3 x 800m gained a bronze medal with the
athletes being Louise Bossons, Leanne Jones and Corrine Kinvig who all
really enjoyed the tough competitive race.
The boys were also successful with the Under 13 boys team winning
the 4 x 800m relay. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the event, the
winning team was Warren Bolas, Kieran Kimvig, Lee Davenport and Simon
Ellis.
The Under 15 boys team, again for the 4 x 800m relay also won the
gold medal with the winning team of David Mason, Mark Roddy, Scott Bennett
and James Griffiths.
