Cheshire Youth Games 2002
The Cheshire Youth Games 2002 at Macclesfield proved to be a huge
success with athletes from VRAC being members of the winning Years 7 &
8 team athletics team.

Athletes from schools in the borough of Vale Royal attended trials
over a period of several weeks, from the trials athletes were selected to
attend training sessions with Vale Royal Coaches Neil Templeman and Sue
Clarke. The final team of 7 boys and 7 girls was then selected from
the training sessions.
Each athlete had to compete in a running race, a throwing event and
a jumping event as well as a relay event. The emphasis of the games
was on team spirit.
The Vale Royal Team won the competition (Years 7 & 8 athletics)
as well as the Fair Play award for Sporting Conduct.
