1994 -
2004 (1st April)

On 1st April 1994 two
athletics club in Cheshire, that of Mid Cheshire Athletic Club merged with
Winsford Athletic Club to become Vale Royal Athletic Club. Both clubs
were competing in the same local leagues as each other, yet with Mid
Cheshire AC with a strong junior section and Winsford AC with a strong
senior section, it made perfect sense to merge together.
Now it`s ten years on and
the club has had one success after another with athletes competing for
England in fell running, high jump, cross country, track events as well as
throws pentathlon with some superb performances at national, regional and
county level.

As well as having athletes
of a high standard, the club has a superb set of dedicated coaches in all
disciplines apart from pole vault, who turn out week in, week out. Harry Evans, Shaun McGrath
and Neil Templeman have served the club for ten years in their respective
areas, as well as other coaches who have served the club for six, seven and
eight years.
Special mention must go to
the club committee where Dave Stevens has been a very, very busy club
secretary from the clubs very first newsletter back in April 1994.
Many, many thanks must go to Dave who does a sterling job as well as members
of the committee.
Again there are athletes at
the club who have competed for the last ten years such as Neil Hardman and
Mike Weedall who have been extremely dedicated to their running.
Harry Evans (Club President)
is very proud of the achievements of the club over the last ten years and is
now looking forward to many more fun events and achievements with the club.
