Trip To Ireland Was
Superb!!!

Vale Royal AC ventured
across the Irish Sea to visit Carlingford Outward Bound Centre in Southern
Ireland, whilst 13 members of the club were in London for the 25th
anniversary of the race.
The trip to Ireland was
organised by Shaun McGrath and this was appreciated greatly by all the
coaches and athletes who attended the beautiful surroundings of the harbour
and rural buildings along with the stunning views of the mountains across
the bay.
The athletes fully
enjoyed the activities provided by the centre such as archery, orienteering,
Jacobs ladder, assault course, mental agility games, high wire leap of
faith, plus the night line activity. Despite the extremely wet weather
on the Sunday the athletes participated in the outdoor activities with
vigour and positive attitudes.
Whilst over there a link
was made with Newry Athletic Club who very kindly took time out on a
Saturday evening to come and see us at the centre where a game of volleyball
was played between mixed teams plus photos and the nightline activity.
This proved to be a great
way to finish off the Saturday evening and left everyone in great spirits
with lots of good natured banter between the groups. Vale Royal
Athletic Club is pleased to announce that Newry Athletic Club will be
visiting our shores in August 2005 and the gesture will be returned by VRAC.
