Vale Royal AC Attain
Club
Mark Status

Vale
Royal Athletic Club have been informed of the successful completion of the
Sport England Club Mark Award which demonstrates that Vale Royal AC is a
quality athletic club officially.
Harry
Evans (Club President) and Neil Templeman have spent twelve months on the
charter mark in order to pass the competencies, totalling nearly a hundred
of them in order to achieve the award.
The
club had to clinically analyse systems that were in place and make
improvements with regards to child protection issues, training of coaches,
providing protocols for athletes, parents and coaches to abide by for the
benefit of everyone at the club.
The
awarding of club mark demonstrates that the club is a safe, effective and
child friendly club where athletes can be supervised by licensed coaches who
are police checked and are aware of child protection issues and diversity
within coaching.
Michael Hunt who is the North West Athletics Development Officer for the
Amateur Athletic Association of England was delighted for the club and
informed the club that the file submitted was one of the best ever seen by
the development team in London, which is a pleasing compliment to the work
completed by Vale Royal AC.
Chris
Bottomley, head of Leisure Services at Vale Royal Borough Council was
equally pleased for the club where he commented that club mark is an award
that demonstrates high quality of coaching and dealing with young people
very effectively. It also shows that Vale Royal AC is a quality
athletic club and this is extremely pleasing.
