Hayley Attends Awards Evening

Hayley Jones and her parents were guests at the Sport Cheshire Awards Evening recently, where Hayley was a nominee for Athlete of the Year Award 2005 at Mere Golf Club.

Hayley was nominated by the club for the award due to her fantastic achievements this year which include 3 national titles and a national sprint relay team title, plus sprinting for England Schools in Ireland in the summer.

Hayley has this year won the British Indoor Title for 200 metres, the English Schools Title For 300 Metres and the British Championships Title for 300 metres in the Under 17 ladies category.  Hayley was the undisputed number one athlete in the UK Rankings for 300 metres and recorded top ten times in the UK for 100m, 200m and 400 metres along with her North of England Title and Cheshire Championships titles in sprints.

Despite the astonishing achievements this year Hayley did not win the award, however, Hayley seen with her parents above was delighted to be a nominee for the award.
