Hayley Wins Gold At AAA Indoor Championships

Hayley Jones of Vale Royal Athletic Club has delighted Coaches and athletes at the club by winning the British Indoor 200 Metres Title For Under 17 Ladies.  The newly crowned British Champion was delighted with her time of 24.44 seconds, a fantastic new personal best, which also placed her 9th on the all time list for the age group.

Club President Harry Evans was full of praise for Hayley who has worked diligently during the winter months to win the British Championships title at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.

Hayley was extremely disappointed the day before, where in the 300m semi final, Hayley ran the fastest time of both semis with a time of 39.54 seconds, which placed her 3rd on the all time list for the age group.  Hayley was then told 20 minutes after the race that she had been disqualified for touching the line on the track, which was extremely harsh argued club members at the track.

Hanna Hewitson was in action for the club where she jumped to 9th place in her first British Indoor Championships in the Under 17 ladies Triple Jump.  The North Of England Champion for that age group will be back next year again for that championships.

James Griffiths was also in action for the Under 17 mens 800 metres with 4 laps of the track whjere he enjoyed the action at the indoor arena.
