Team Archer Run London!
April
23 is a big day in the calendar for the Archer family, as Dad (Tony) Archer
and 3 children (Nathan, Amy and Nicky) all take on the London Marathon.
For
those of you who don’t know the Archers, Tony, Amy and Nicky have all been
regular members of the senior section of the club for some time now and Nathan
has taken up running in the past 12 months.
Youngest family member Nicky is favourite to cross the line first. Nicky ran
in both the 2004 and 2005 London Marathons, however she has qualified for a
place in the elite ladies race for the first time this year.
Dad,
Tony, is a veteran of many long distance races, and will also be running the
Marathon for the third time after achieving a ‘good for his age’ time in last
years race.
The
eldest of the offspring, Nathan, is a regular 1st team member at Winnington
Park RFC and this will be his first attempt at the Marathon distance.
Amy
is the main instigator of the fundraising efforts, deciding that if they are
all going to run 26.2 miles it should at least be for a good cause!!! Like
Nathan, this will be Amy’s first Marathon.
‘Team Archer’ are raising
money for St Luke’s Hospice. Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so at
www.justgiving.com/teamarcher or directly with any
family member at training or via email (nic_archer@hotmail.com)
