Hanna
Breaks Her Second North Of
England
Championship Record

Hanna Hewitson was in
fine form at the North of England Indoor Championships 2006 in Sheffield to
retain her title and gain a championship record.
Hanna who contested the
Under 17 Ladies triple jump defended her title from last year and set a new
personal best and North of England Championship record for indoor of 11.64
metres to the delight of the crowd at the arena.
Hanna broke the previous
record of 10.97 metres with her first jump of 11.55 metres to break the old
record which had stood for six years. Hanna then furthered that record
to 11.64 metres which was very pleasing indeed for Hanna, who is the outdoor
record holder for the Under 17 ladies triple North of England record as
well. Therefore, Hanna is delighted to the be record holder for both
indoor and outdoor events.
Jumps Coach Neil
Templeman was delighted that Hanna had broken the indoor record as last year
she missed the record by an agonising three cms and was particularly upset
that she had not broke the record, so this year she came back and decided to
make that her goal for the competition and she did it in fine style.
Hanna will now be back in
training for the British Indoor Championships which take place in March 2006
at the National Indoor Arena and Hanna is very much looking forward to the
championships.
