Fantastic Time Had By All On

The Isle of Wight

40 athletes and several coaches embarked on a three day trip to an outward bound centre in the Isle of Wight for a weekend of activities, designed to celebrate the end of winter training.

The journey down to Southampton was pleasant followed by the hour car ferry trip to Cowes with another half hour journey by coach to our destination, that of Bembridge.

The Kingswood Educational Centre was the venue for the whole weekend, right by the beach where the athletes participated in quad bikes, go karting, laser quest, jacobs ladder, leap of faith, abseiling, rock climbing, zip wire and many other activities.

There was some free time available which was spent on the beach - Whitcliff Bay Beach on a beautiful sunny day in the Isle of Wight.  Everyone was so surprised at how sunny it could be in April, when it is usually quite cold in the north of England.

The activities were superb and all the athletes had a fantastic time on the island, a first for many, with stunning views of the island being observed.
