Hanna Defends North Of England Title

Hanna
Hewitson was in great form at the North of England Championships at the
weekend where she defended her North of England title at the South Leeds
Stadium. Hanna was delighted with a seasons best of 11.74 metres (Under
17 Ladies Triple Jump) where she beat the current English Schools Champion on
her own home track with some very gutsy jumping indeed.
Hanna
also jumped to the top of the British Rankings with the longest jump so far
this year to win the title which is a huge psychological boost for Hanna who
has won four North of England titles in the last two years. Hanna has
won the indoor and outdoor championships over the last two seasons, where she
is the championship record holder for both indoor and outdoor championships.
Jumps
Coach Neil Templeman was absolutely buzzing after the competition because
Hanna was jumping against a very good quality athlete on her home track, who
has competed for England in the discipline of triple jump. However,
Hanna and jumps coach Templeman know there is much, much hard work to come and
will not rest on their laurels in the run up to the English Schools and
British Championships.
