Sport Relief 2006

Vale Royal Athletic Club were involved in the Sport Relief 2006 where just over 300 people took part in three races, a mile each to raise money for charity.

Brian Hall, an ex Olympic and Commonwealth Games Athlete organised the event where coaches and athletes from Vale Royal AC assisted the event.  It was a great day out and there were many, many different characters who completed the 4 laps of the track.

It was a beautiful hot day with a great attendance by people of all ages who walked and jogged the course, who all appreciated the bottles of water at the end of the run.

Hanna Hewitson who is one the clubs risings stars in the event of triple jump was congratulated by Brian Hall, Harry Evans (VRAC Club President) and the Mayor and Mayoress on her recent bronze medal at the Sainsburys 2006 English Schools Championships in Gateshead, Newcastle.

Brian Hall commented that Hanna was an excellent role model for younger athletes at the club and wishes her well for the future.
