Tom Comes 4th At British Champs

Tom Carter of Vale Royal AC contested the British Championships Live on BBC Television to finish an excellent fourth place in the mens 1500 metres.

Tom contested the championships which were also the trials for the European championships on one of the hottest days of the year at Sport City in Manchester in club colours.

Many of the youngsters at the club were absolutely delighted to see a member of the club compete in club colours on BBC television.

Tom is the fifth person to be seen on Live Television in club colours along with Jane Groves, Alex Carter who competed on the track.  The other two athletes were Jackie Thorn and Nicky Archer who have appeared Live on BBC television in the London Marathon over recent years.
