Hanna Gains Silver Medal At
British Track And Field Championships

Hanna
Hewitson gained a silver medal in the British Track and Field Championships
2006 in the Under 17 ladies triple jump to the delight of everyone at Vale
Royal AC.
Hewitson
jumped to a seasons best of 11.77 metres where the winner jumped to 11.78
metres, where Hanna missed out on the gold medal by 1cm. Hanna was very
proud to represent the club and wore blue and yellow ribbons in her hair,
along with her face painted in blue and yellow colurs.

Jumps
Coach Neil Templeman thoroughly enjoyed a very entertaining competition where
the rivalry was fiercely competitive but very friendly at the same time which
was great to see.
Rebecca
Cragie also enjoyed an excellent performance in the Under 15 girls 1500
metres in very warm and humid conditions to come in a very pleasing 5th place.
Shaun McGrath was very pleased with Rebecca who battled all the way to the
finish.
Hannah
Weedall also contested the 3000 metres in the Under 17 ladies age group to
finish in a good position with a very, very red face, after a hard fought race
in very humid temperatures.
Lee
Davenport contested the Under 17 mens 400 metres and reached the semi finals
in a very hard fought race to enjoy the championships.
Kathy
Stringer also competed at the championships in the under 15 girls 1500 metres
for the very first time and found it to be a huge learning curve that was
extremely enjoyable.
Club
President Harry Evans was delighted with the performances of Hanna, Hannah and
Rebecca, Kathy and Lee where he said that the athletes are great role models for younger
athletes at the club and shows that training on a regular basis with
commitment gets you places. |
