Development Coaches

This age group caters for all of the athletics events which are contained within the Sports Hall Athletics Programme as well as the Aviva Shine Awards scheme.  The activities the athlete ‘try out’ range from standing long jump to team relays and hurdles races in the sports hall.  The young athletes can also access cross country, and take part in the multi-events group.

This is the age group where the athletes attempt all of the athletics events in order to provide a stimulating environment for the athletes who are still at primary school.  The aim is to have fun and plenty of it… with relays and ‘team spirit’ games that encourage friendships between athletes.  The Aviva Shine Awards are a major player in the activities for athletes who are under the age of 11.
