Records so far for 2020:
Congratulations to Robbie Price on breaking the U15 3000m record at Dagenham on 31st Oct. He clocked an impressive 9m 17.98 secs to break Jake Wilson's record set last year
Now that competition is
starting up again after a long break, club records are starting to tumble.
At the BMC Trafford Gold Standard meeting on 15th September:
Jake Wilson knocked 1s off Elliot Bowker's U17 3000m record with a run of
8.34.57
Will Ashfield broke Elliot's U15 1500m record by 2s in a time of 3.55.79
...and U17 Holly Weedall broke Amy Hinchly's 3000m record from 2013 by
over 10s in 9.43.82
In this year's UK Inter Counties XC, U15 Holly Weedall came 3rd, beating Megan Huxley's 9th place from 2008
Records for 2019:
At the final fling in Wrexham on the 28th Sept, U15 Ben Thorn broke Joe Cooper's 12 year old discus record by more than 2 metres with a throw of 32.86
On the 31 Aug in the 3000m at Bedford, U15 Jake Wilson knocked more than 13s off Elliot Bowker's 2011 record with a time of 9:28.41
(A belated shout for Nicky Archer who set the Senior Ladies 10,000m record with a time of 33:32.83 back in 2010)
On the 29th June at the
BMC Grand Pix in Watford, U20 Ben Lee ran 800m in 1:49.36, knocking over
2s off his record from last year.
At the same event, Senior Chris Perry took over 10s of his 3000m
Steeplechase record with a time of 8:44.55.
Both scoring victories in their respective events!
U15 Holy Weedall has had a
good year so far setting 3 new amazing club records:
- 1st in the Northern Cross Contry Championships
- 1st in the English National Cross Contry Championships
- In April at Trafford she ran 4:30.55, knocking 3s off Amy Hinchly's 7
year old record
At the Cheshire County Schools Championships, Meg further increases the record to 32.47!
U17 Meg Henshall kicks off the season with a Javelin PB of 32.36m to win the Cheshire County Championships.
Records for 2018:
Cross Country records now include the British Athletics Cross Challenge event - thanks to Chris Weedall for doing the research!
Josh Ginty broke the U13 Javelin record with a throw of 31.28m at the Chieshire League, Salford on the 2nd September - and was rewarded with a gold medal!
Chris follows
this up 3 days later by trimming just over 8s off his 5000m PB at the BMC
Grand Prix in a time of 14:09.64.
Chris Perry
continues to improve the 3000m Steeplechase record with a run of 8:55.19
at the Manchester International on the 15th August.
Ben Lee redeems himself by setting a new U20 800m record at Trafford on 14th August with a time of 1:51.78, also putting him in the top 20 in the rankings as a first year U20 for 2018.
Belated congratulations to Josh Betteley who scored 14th place in the the 2016 UK Inter Counties XC for U17 men, replacing Andy Clews 17th from 2009 (sorry Ben!)

This brings the total number of cross country records to an amazing 9 for this
season - and by 5 different runners!!
As a result of
the National Cross Country Championships held on Sat 24th February at
Parliament Hill London, we now have another 4 new XC Club Records.
Matt Sheen's 42nd place in the Senior Men smashes Stu Doyle's 98th from 3
years ago.
Harry Dexter's 21st place in the U20 Men's event surpasses
Andy Clews' 26th place from 2011.
Holly Smith's 4th place in the U17 equals Megan Huxley from 2011, and...
Holly Weedall's 6th in the U13 event knocks out Megan's 10th place from
2007.
The
cross country season got off to a great start with 2 new records at
Northern Cross Country Championships held on
Sat 27th January in Leeds:
14th place for Matt Sheen, toppling a long standing record held by Tom
Carter since 2004!
And a fantastic 1st for Holly Weedall in the U13 event, replacing Jess
Parsons 6th place from 2010.
Records for 2017:
A final record for the 2017 T&F season - Jordan Kelly further improves his U17 Discus record to 38.73m at the Wrexham Final Fling!
Jordan Kelly improves his U17 Discus record with a throw of 38.35m at the Trafford AC Grand Prix on the 29th August.
Ben Lee improves his U17 800m record with a time of 1:53.41 at the England Athletics U15/U17 Championships on the 27th August.
U13 Holly
Weedall has already put her name to 4 new records this year:
- 5th at this years Inter County XC Champs (Loughborough) -
beating Jess Parsons' 7 year old record for 9th place!
- 2:27.05 for the 800m at the Cheshire Champs
- 3:50.21 for the 1200m also at Cheshire Champs
- 4:53.4 for the 1500m set at Cheshire Schools Minors Champs
On the 13th May at the Cheshire Champs, Simar Hare broke the U15 Girls Long Jump record with a jump of 5.15m - previously set in 2004!
In the Mason Trophy at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, Jordan Kelly threw 37.91m in the U17 Mens Discus - also coming 3rd in the event.
Ben Lee broke the U17 800m record at the Trafford Meeting on the 13th June with a time of 1:53.97.
Also at the Cheshire Champs U13 Ben Thorn has extended his Discus record to 20.36m
U17 Mens Discus: Jordan Kelly threw 37.47m at the Cheshire Champs on the 13th May
U15 Girls Javelin: Megan Evans threw 34.23m at the Trafford Open Medal Meeting on the 1st May
Records for 2016:
Ben Thorn extends the U13 Discus record by nearly 2m to 17.07m at Wrexham on the 24th Sept.
Jacob Brown reduces the club U20 400m record to 50.97 at Trafford on Tuesday 26 July.
U15 Bethan Kelly takes the Javelin record over 30m with a throw of 31.02m at the Loughborough graded meeting on the 21st July.
At the Masons Trophy on the
18th June U15 Alfie Bould ran 4:06:51 in the 1500m, shaving nearly 3
seconds off his previous record an putting him no. 1 in the Power of 10
rankings!
In the same weekend U15 Cameron Duff improves the 200m record to 23.61.

tumble at the 2nd Cheshire T&F League Meeting:
- Cameron Duff improves the U15 boys 200m record to 23.7
- Ben Thorn threw 15.25m in the U13 boys Discus
- U13 Holly Weedall achieved an 800m time of 2.30.8, improving on her
previous time of 2.33.95 and edging out Megan Huxley's 10year old record.
On the 24th May Alfie Bould shaved a bit more off the U15 1500 record when he ran 4:16:1 at a BMC in Tipton. However on the 4th May at the BMC in Milton Keynes he had a much better race and dragged it down to 4:09:35, moving him to No. 2 in the British rankings.

- Sarah Gibbs puts her stamp on the Senior Ladies Shot with a throw of
6.6m.
- U15 Cameron Duff further pushes his 200m record to 24.12.
- U13 Holly Weedall equals Megan Huxley's 10 year old 800m record with a
run of 2.33.95.
...and sets a new 1200m record in 3.55.83.
- Megan Evans increases her U15 girls Javelin as record to 29.91m
One of the Club's longest standing records tumbles this month (May) - U15 Alfie Bould shaves 0.16s off Tom Carter's 20 year old 1500m time, recording 4.16.33!

Cameron follows this up outdoors with a 200m run of 24.4s at Blackpool on 19th March, beating Jack Seddon's 7 year old record.
U15 sprinter Cameron Duff gets the year off to a good start with a 200m run of 24.29s at the Northern Athletic Indoor Championships
