Bill Wardle - A VRAC Legend......

Bill in his Winsford vest - mid 80s

Report from Shaun McGrath:

One of Vale Royals original members Bill Wardle sadly died this week, aged 81.

In the early days of the club Bill helped out with coaching and played a big part in hosting the Cheshire XC in the first year.

Always a top man and never talked bad of anyone.

One of the many memories I have of him is the following:
We were on a 20ish mile run in the 1980s running from Knights Grange we were just passing the Shop in Delamere and Bill fell flat on his face and with blood everywhere Bill looked up and as he was lying there just said "leave me lads as I don't want to spoil your run"

His funeral will be at Rudheath Crematorium on Friday 1st March at 3.15pm. All are welcome.
